Bears at Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off

Coming off a 17-point home win over Oral Roberts in their season opener last Friday, the Missouri State Bears head to Knoxville, Tenn., this week for the first and second rounds of the Dick’s Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off. The Bears are the No. 6 national seed in the 16-team event and will open the tournament on Tuesday at 6 p.m. (Central) against Arkansas State (0-1). The Bears will then take on either Belmont (0-0) or No. 20/23 Tennessee (1-0) on Wednesday in the second round.
 The winner of the South Regional will advance to Madison Square Garden in New York for the national finals, Nov. 24-26, while the other three teams will play in the consolation round on campus sites, Nov. 22-23.
 Regardless of the opponent, Missouri State’s game on Wednesday will air live on KCZ, The Ozarks CW and the Missouri State television network, which includes Metro Sports in Kansas City and Charter Cable in St. Louis. Ned Reynolds (play-by-play) and former Bears standout Kelby Stuckey (color) will call the action.
 All five Missouri State starters scored in double figures in Friday’s season opener at JQH Arena. The Bears never trailed in the 78-61 win over Oral Roberts and outrebounded their 11th straight foe.
