Missouri State has received signed National Letters of Intent or written offers of financial aid from a number of student-athletes today during the first day of the National Signing Period for football, soccer, field hockey and track. The period extends to April 1 for football and to August 1 for the other sports listed.

FOOTBALL --
Missouri State’s high school signees are:
Justin Aumen (6-5, 285, OL, Junction City, Kan.) helped Coach Randall Zimmerman’s Junction City (Kan.) High School squad to a Kansas Class 6A state title and perfect 13-0 season this fall. He was recognized by four organizations as a first-team all-state performer in 2008 as well as earning first-team All-Centennial League honors his junior and senior seasons. The Kansas Shrine Bowl selection also garnered second-team all-state honors in 2007 and guided his teams to a collective 22-2 record the past two seasons. He was a three-time letterman in football and track as a standout shot putter.
Antonio Brown (5-10, 170, DB, Midwest City, Okla.) was a second-team All-State defensive back the past two seasons at Midwest City (Okla.) High for Coach Steve Huff’s Bombers. He earned first-team all-conference honors in 2008 after helping his squad to back-to-back 12-1 seasons, both of which culminated in the Class 6A semifinals. On the defensive side, he tallied 41 tackles in 2008, but was also a versatile offensive player. He rushed for 279 yards on 46 carries and collected 12 receptions for 205 yards (17.1 yards per reception) with five touchdowns, earning him the team’s Both Sides Award. He is also a two-time all-state track performer.
Raymondrick Brown (6-1, 215, LB, Texarkana, Texas) posted 86 tackles, 10 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and five interceptions this season for Coach Barry Norton’s Texas (Texas) High school team. Brown was an all-Northeast Texas, all-district, and all-conference pick for the Tigers in 2008, helping his team to a 9-2 record and Class 4A playoff trip. A three-sport standout, Brown has sensational 4.5 speed in the 40-yard dash, and is also a standout basketball and track performer.
Ryan Callender (6-1, 210, LB, Dallas, Texas) is a two-time all-district linebacker at Hillcrest (Texas) High who also played wide receiver as a standout prep performer. He was team captain as a senior and helped Coach Andy Todd’s Panthers to a 7-4 record in 2008 and berth in the Texas Class 4A playoffs.
Mikael Cooper-Falls (5-11, 195, TB, Springfield, Mo.) averaged 9.4 yards per carry and scored 14 touchdowns as a tailback for Coach John Beckham’s Hillcrest High School Hornets in 2008. The second-team Class 5 All-State standout rushed for 1,200 yards, earning all-Ozarks Conference, all-region and second-team all-area honors this season, while guiding Hillcrest to the Class 5 state playoffs. He was also a first-team All-Ozarks Conference pick as a junior and qualified for the Class 4 state track meet in the long jump and 100-meter dash.
Cadarrius Dotson (5-9, 165, WR/PR, Memphis, Tenn.) averaged 20.4 yards per punt return as a senior at Kirby High School in Memphis, Tenn., earning him all-region and All-Memphis Metro laurels. He was also a prolific wide receiver, gathering in 37 passes for 709 yards (19.2 yards per reception) for Coach Chester Flowers, Jr.’s Cougars. He accounted for seven receiving touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns and a punt return score this season.
Anthony Grady (6-6, 270, DT, Texarkana, Ark.) helped Arkansas (Ark.) High to back-to-back Class 6A state championships in 2006 and 2007. In 2008, the Razorbacks were 5-7, but made the state playoffs behind a solid defensive effort. Grady recorded 58 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, nine sacks and broke up 14 passes his senior season. He will play in the Arkansas All-Star Game on June 26 in Fayetteville and was named to the Arkansas Class 6A All-State squad as well as claiming All-Southwest Arkansas and All-6A South Conference honors for Coach Bill Keopple.
Kyle Hahn (6-7, 300, OL, O’Fallon, Mo.) was an All-AAA Conference pick in 2008 for Coach Bob Leonard’s Crusaders at St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, Mo. The sizeable standout also helped his team to a 6-4 record in 2008 while earning East Central All-District laurels by the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.
Curtis King (6-2, 265, DT, Memphis, Tenn.) was an All-Memphis Metro defensive tackle in 2008 who was also named to the All-Tennessee Defensive team. He helped guide Coach Teli White’s Bears to the Class 3A playoffs and a 6-5 record this season while recording 86 total tackles, including 54 solos, with 16 sacks. He was also named to the all-Mid South team in 2008.
Kurt Kutter (6-3, 275, OL, Wentzville, Mo.) was named to the Post-Dispatch Top 20 players list after helping Wentzville Timberland High School to a 10-1 record and Class 5 district title this season. He was an all-Gateway Conference performer in 2008, in addition to earning Class 5 All-State laurels and second-team St. Louis All-Metro distinction for Coach Craig Collins’ Wolves.
Joey Mendel (6-1, 200, RB, Springfield, Mo.) will join the Bears this fall as a walk-on after proving to be a versatile standout for Coach Joel Heman at Glendale High School. In 2007, he was an All-Ozarks Conference punter and running back, while claiming Southwest Missouri Football Coaches Association second-team honors at both positions. He is also a distinguished discus thrower for the Falcons’ track team.
Howard Scarborough (5-9, 175, DB, Tulsa, Okla.) captained Tulsa (Okla.) Union High School to the 2008 Class 6A state championship after registering 96 tackles, four interceptions and a fumble recovery this season. He will play in the Oklahoma All-State Game on July 31 in Tulsa and was named to four different all-state squads his senior season. The Redskins had back-to-back 13-1 seasons with Scarborough guiding Coach Kirk Fridrich’s defense, including a state runner-up showing in 2007.
Chris Scott-Cline (6-4, 245, DE, Little Rock, Ark.) was a Class 7A Central all-conference pick for the Tigers of Little Rock (Ark.) Central High School. He has 4.68 speed off the edge and is also a standout performer in basketball and track. He claimed Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Player of the Week honors once in 2008 for Coach Bernie Cox.
Matt Swan (6-3, 215, WR/TE, Springfield, Mo.) is an all-around athlete who was a three-sport letterman last year at Glendale High School. In 2007, the large-framed receiver and tight end garnered All-Ozarks Conference honors in 2008 for Coach Joel Heman’s Falcons and was also named to the Southwest Missouri Football Coaches Association team. He is also a standout in basketball and track.
Adrian Williams (5-11, 175, WR, Jacksonville, Fla.) possesses a great blend of speed and toughness, collecting 500 receiving yards on 28 catches and eight touchdowns this season at First Coast High School. He clocked a 4.47 40-yard dash at the Scout.com combine in March 2008, earning first-team all-combine honors at receiver. He helped Coach Marty Lee’s Buccaneers to a 6-5 season that culminated in the Florida Class 4A playoffs, earning him second-team All-Gateway Conference and all-district honors.
Trevor Wooden (6-2, 215, QB, Gainesville, Fla.) was a Florida Class 5A second-team All-State quarterback in 2008 after throwing for 1,899 yards with 16 touchdowns while compiling more than 2,300 yards total offense and accounting for 24 touchdowns. He threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns in a game on 9/4/08 against Eagle View (Fla.) Academy. He helped Coach Ryan Smith’s Hurricanes to a 5-5 finish this season and earned all-district honors by the Gainesville Sun and FACA.
Newly-announced junior college transfers who will attend Missouri State this fall:
Antoine Wilkinson (6-2, 220, LB, Magnolia, Miss.) will transfer to Missouri State from Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Miss., where he tallied 50 total tackles and 6.5 sacks for Coach Charles Anthony’s Bears this season. He played in the Mississippi Juco All-Star Game in December and is noted as a great pass rusher and tackler. He attended Amite County High School where he was an all-district tight end and linebacker in 2006 in addition to helping two sprint relay teams qualify for the state meet in track.
Previously-announced transfers already enrolled and attending classes at Missouri State are:
Michael Keck (6-4, 215, So., DE, Harrisonville, Mo.) will join the Bears this spring after departing Gary Pinkel’s Missouri team one game into the 2008 season. Keck was redshirted in 2007 at Missouri and was No. 2 on the Tigers’ depth chart in the 2008 preseason. He played in the Missouri’s 2008 season opener against Illinois and then departed the team. He was rated the state’s No. 2 player from the 2007 recruiting class by Rivals.com, just behind Columbia Rock Bridge tight end Aron White, who now plays at Georgia. He was a four-year starter at Harrisonville High School and helped coach Fred Bouchard’s teams to a collective 53-3 record in four seasons, including three Missouri Class 3 titles and one runner-up finish.
Erik Dahl (6-3, 275, Jr., OL, Shawnee, Kan.) was a two-time NJCAA All-American at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan., which won back-to-back national juco championships in 2007 and 2008. He was also a two-time all-Jayhawk Conference and all-Region VI selection, while helping the Grizzlies to a 23-1 record in his two seasons. Butler’s ball carriers averaged 4.3 yards per carry and scored 26 touchdowns this season behind its talented offensive line, while accounting for 2,332 passing yards and 23 aerial touchdowns. Dahl (DOLL) attended Shawnee Mission Northwest High School where he was team captain and a second-team all-conference performer for coach Aaron Barnett.
Robert Shapel (6-4, 300, Jr., OL, Iola, Kan.) was also a member of the Butler Community College program the past two seasons and helped Dahl anchor the team’s highly-touted offensive line. He was an all-Jayhawk League offensive tackle in 2008 and was instrumental in the team’s 16-0 run through the league the past two seasons, in addition to the pair of Region VI and NJCAA national titles. Shapel (SHAY-pull) was a four-year starter at Iola (Kan.) High School for coach Dean Taylor and was an all-conference lineman, also earning first-team all-area defensive honors as well as Kansas 4A all-state honorable mention distinction.
Adam Beauchamp (6-0, 235, Jr., LB, Prescott Valley, Ariz.) comes to the Bears from Glendale (Ariz.) Community College where he was a first-team all-Western States Football League and all-Arizona Community College Athletics Conference pick as a senior as well as NJCAA all-region. Coach Mickey Bell’s Gauchos finished the season with an 8-2 record and No. 9 nationally ranking in 2008 after a 6-4 campaign in 2007. Beauchamp (BEE-chum) was a standout running back at Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott Valley, Ariz., rushing for a school record 2,220 yards and earning Arizona running back of the year honors after leading the state in rushing. He also was a three-time all-region selection and was named Arizona’s Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year in 2006 for coach Chuck Apap’s Bears.
TRACK & FIELD --
Emily Beaver (Diamond, Mo.) won three-straight Missouri class 1A state cross country championships. She is one of only three high school runners in state history to win three state cross country titles. Only Jamie Vest (MSU ’08) has won more than state cross country titles than Beaver. In track competition at the 2A level, she had top state championship finishes of fourth in the 1600-meters (2008), seventh in the 800-meters (2008), sixth in the 3200-meters (2007), second in the 4x800-meters relay (2006) and third in the 4x400-meters relay (2008). Beaver will compete in both track and field and cross country for Missouri State.
Jordan Bond (Normal, Ill.) is a Junior Olympic qualifier and one of the top returning jumpers in the state of Illinois. Bond was an Illinois AA (Large Class) Sectional champion in the triple jump in 2008. She is the Normal High School triple jump record holder and was named team MVC in both 2007 and 2008. Bond was undefeated in the triple jump until the state championship in 2008. She was also an all-area and all-conference honoree in volleyball at Normal High.
Ariel Butzine (Lake Villa, Ill.) was an Illinois class AA state meet qualifier as both a freshman and sophomore in the 800-meter run. She broke through as a junior to qualify for the state finals in 2008. Her eighth-place finish also netted her a lifetime best of 2:15.28, the second-fastest prep time ever for a Missouri State signee behind fellow 2009 signee Maggie Sutor.
Olivia Koehler (Wentzville, Mo.) was an All-State long jumper, who has shown promise in multiple events. She is projected as a future heptathlete for the Bears. Koehler took the runner-up position at the 2008 Missouri 4A state championship in the long jump with a personal best of 18-02.00. She was eighth at the 3A level in 2006 during her freshman campaign. One of only two returning jumpers in Missouri with a personal best long jump over 18-feet, Koehler finished among the top-15 jumpers at the Junior Olympics in Omaha, Neb. She also boasts three straight appointments to the GAC All-Conference team.
Taylor Rivera (Miller, Mo.) is a six-time Missouri class one state champion where she won both the 800- and 1600-meter events in 2008 with personal best performances. Rivera’s other state titles came in the 800-meters (2006), 1600-meters (2006) and 3200-meters (2006, 2007). In cross country, Rivera earned All-State honors twice with fifth-place finishes in both 2005 and 2007. She missed her senior cross country season due to injury. At MSU, Rivera will compete in both track and field and cross country.
Abigail Schlater (Council Bluffs, Iowa) set personal bests in 2008 on her way to two Iowa AA state championships in track. After winning the 1500- and 3000-meter events, Schlater anchored St. Albert High School to a fifth-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay. At the 2007 Iowa state meet, she finished runner-up in the 3000-meters, was a member of the state champion 4x400-meter relay and runner-up 4x800-meter relay. In cross country, Schlater was Iowa’s AA 10th-place finisher in 2007 and finished 12th in 2008. She also led her team to the cross country state championship in 2007. Also a talented soccer player, Schlater was named The Daily Pareil Soccer Player of The Year. Schlater will compete in both track and field and cross country for Missouri State.
Ashton Stubbs (Platte City, Mo.) finished sixth at the Missouri state 3A High School cross country champion as a senior and finished 10th as a junior. She ran a lifetime best in the 1600-meters at the state 3A track and field championship taking sixth in the event and was 11th in the 800-meters in 2008. As a sophomore in 2007, she placed fourth in the 1600-meters and sixth in the 800-meters at the state championship. Stubbs will compete in both track and field and cross country for Missouri State.
Maggie Sutor (Mokena, Ill.), one of Illinois' top 800-meter prospects, she finished fourth in 2006 at the Illinois Class AA state meet and placing in the top 11 the last two years for Coach Wendy Hegarty's Lincoln-Way East High team. She has run 2:15 or better for 800-meters each of the past three seasons. Her best of 2:14.72 is the fastest prep time ever for a Missouri State signee. Her top times are: 400-meters (59.3), 800-meters (2:14.72) and cross country (17:33). Sutor will compete in both track and field and cross country for Missouri State.
Nicole Thate (Darien, Ill.) is a three-time Illinois AA (Large Class) state championship qualifier in track and field. Thate earned all-state honors in 2006 (4x400m) and competed at the state level in the 1600-meters in 2006 and 2007 and in the 800-meters (2:18.22) in 2008. She was a 10-time West Suburban Gold Conference individual champion on the track. Thate was a four-time All-Conference in cross country and took the conference title in 2005.
Currently Enrolled Spring '09 Tranfers
Brittany "Britain" Blackmon (University of Louisiana-Monroe/Russellville HS, Dardanelle, Ark.), a sophomore, joins the MSU program after starting her career at the University of Louisiana-Monroe. At ULM, Blackmon was the top distance runner for the Warhawks in their most recent cross country season. As a freshman Blackmon posted personal bests of 4:43.34 for the 1,500-meter and 2:17.72 for the 800-meter. Blackmon will compete in both cross country and track and field at MSU.
Shantel Llewellyn (Mid-American Nazarene University / Pine Ridge HS, Ontario, Canada), a sophomore, comes to Missouri State from Mid-American Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan. At MNU, Llewellyn had bests of 12.00 seconds for the 100-meter and 24.62 seconds for the 200-meter. As a prep, Llewellyn posted personal bests of 7.82 seconds for the 60-meter dash indoors, 12.16 seconds for 100-meter and 24.44 for 200-meter. After winning the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association’s Central Regional in the 100- and 200-meter, along with a third-place showing in the 400-meter, Llewellyn qualified for the OFSAA Championships, where she placed eighth in the 100-meter (12.25) and second in the 200-meter (24.84).
FIELD HOCKEY --
Steph Anderson (5-0, GK, Pittsburgh, Pa.) was a three-year starter for Coach Jen Diaz at North Allegheny High School, helping her team to a combined 38-7-1 record during that span with a pair of WPIAL conference titles. She collected 239 saves in 2008 with five shutouts and a 0.75 goals-against average. She allowed 0.6 goals as a junior with 10 shutouts and 0.4 her sophomore year with eight complete-game shutouts.
Grace Baker (5-5, F, West Yorkshire, England) was a four-year starter for Horsforth High School in Leeds, England for Coach Miss e. Dewar. She was Horsforth's top goal scorer twice during her prep career and was named Leeds Hockey Club Player of the Year in 2008 and UIG Player of the Year in 2007, helping her club team to the Yorkshire Cup title in 2008 and her high school team to two league championships her freshman and sophomore years and runner-up finishes the past two seasons. She was also a standout rounders player at Horsforth and participated in the 2005 International Childrens Games.
Emily Brcic (5-5, MF/D, Ellisville, Mo.) was a standout at Lafayette High School in St. Louis where she guided Coach Kelly Yates’ Lancers to three straight Suburban Conference championships and a 52-9-2 record from 2006-08 and outscored their opponents 210-45 over the last two seasons. As a defender her senior year, she factored in three goals and collected five assists earning second-team Post-Dispatch All-Metro and all-conference honors. She was also a St. Louis Senior All-Star game participant with teammate and fellow MSU recruit Chelsey Medlock. She also had nine assists and a pair of goals as a junior.
Kristina O'Connor (5-3, F, Fort Worth, Texas) was the top scorer the past two seasons for Oak Ridge School in Arlington, Texas, where she is also a standout basketball and softball player. She was field hockey team captain and the Owls' top scorer for Coach Mara Bird in 2008. She earned All-SPC honors this season and conference honorable mention distinction her junior season.
Chelsey Medlock (5-3, D, St. Louis, Mo.) factored in 14 goals this season for Coach Kelly Yates' Lancers at Lafayette High School. She recorded 11 assists and 3 goals, including two game-winners, this season. Her team claimed three straight Suburban Conference titles and secured a 52-9-2 record over the past three seasons. As team captain in 2008, she earned second-team All-Suburban West Conference honors and played in the St. Senior All-Star Game. She also earned St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro honorable mention her senior season and is also a standout soccer player at Lafayette.
Alice Pouppez DeKettenis (5-5, F/MF, Ottignies, Belgium) was standout midfielder and forward for Coach Jeremy Calloud De Faudeur's LLN HC Field Hockey Club in Belgium the last four years and helped her squad to a No. 2 conference finish last season and an 11-1-2 record. Her team was 15-1-2 her junior year and finished as Division 3 runners-up in her native country. She was multiple winner of her team's woman of the match award and also contributed to her team's victory in the 2005 Public Championship and 2006 Scholar's Championship.

WOMEN'S SOCCER --
Grace Cross (F/M Lee’s Summit, Mo. Lee’s Summit North HS) will join older sister Christine on the MSU roster in 2009 after enjoying a stellar four year career at Lee’s Summit North High for coach Tim Richardson. A two-time all-state honoree before missing her junior year due to injury, Cross’s teams won conference and district titles her freshman and sophomore seasons, finishing fourth in state during her sophomore campaign and combining to go 39-6-2 overall and 23-0-1 in conference play over those two seasons.
Katelyn Frederickson (F/M St. Louis, Mo. Nerinx Hall HS) begins her senior season as a two-year starter for a Nerinx Hall team that has accumulated 42 victories against just six defeats with her in the lineup. The 5-6 forward/midfielder has earned all-state, all-metro and all-conference in each of the previous two seasons.
Becky Handley (F Wildwood, Mo. St. Joseph’s Academy) is a 5-6 forward who enters her senior season with 36 goals (including nine game winners), 13 assists and 85 total points to her credit through three seasons of prep soccer. Handley’s teams have gone a combined 61-11-3 the last three seasons and have finished no worse than third in the state tournament during her career. Handley has been an all-conference pick in each of her three seasons as a prep and earned all-state and all-conference honors the last two years.
Claire Hulcer (D Ballwin, Mo. St. Joseph’s Academy) enters her senior season at St. Joseph’s Academy as a three-year starter for a team that has claimed district and conference championships each of her previous three seasons. The 5-7 defender was an all-conference selection as a sophomore and a junior, while her team has combined to go 61-11-3 in her three previous seasons and has finished no worse than third in the state tournament during her career.
Megan Jaskowiak (M/F Belleville, Ill. Althoff Catholic HS) enters her senior season as a team captain for an Althoff Catholic squad that is coming off a runner-up finish at the state tournament in 2008. The 5-7 midfielder/forward was an all-state and all-area choice as a junior, while earning all-area and all-conference honors her first two seasons.
Jody McFarlen (M Bolivar, Mo. Bolivar HS) spent her freshman and sophomore seasons as a starter in the midfield for Bolivar High before electing not to play for the Liberators as a junior in favor of playing for a boys club team. McFarlen has qualified for state meets in tennis and track during her high school career. Her father, Randy, played minor league baseball in the Milwaukee Brewers organization.
Chelsea Voet (GK Omaha, Neb. Millard North HS) enters her senior season at Millard North High as a two-year starter with 25 shutouts to her credit in 39 games. As a junior, she led the state of Nebraska with a 0.37 goals against average while helping the Mustangs to an 18-1 record and state championship. She earned second-team all-state honors last season and honorable mention accolades as a sophomore in 2007. That season, Voet had 135 saves and a 0.75 GAA while her team made it to the state semifinals.
Rachel Weimer (F Bonner Springs, Kan. St. James Academy) is a four-year starter at forward for St. James Academy in Lenexa, Kan., where she has amassed 77 goals and 48 assists through her first three seasons to become the school’s all-time leader in both categories. Last season, St. James won a state championship with a 17-3-1 record. Weimer has been named all-state, all-metro and all-county each of the last two seasons.
Nia Williams (D Roeland Park, Kan. St. James Academy) enters her senior season as a starting defender for a fourth year for St. James Academy in Lenexa, Kan. She was honored as the conference defensive player of the year for the state champions last season, as well as earning all-state, all-metro and all-county honors. Williams was all-state and all-conference as a junior as well, and earned her first of three consecutive team MVP awards as a freshman in 2006.

MEN'S SOCCER --
Francesco Capone (D/M Toronto, Ont. Shattuck - St. Mary’s School (Faribault, Minn.) Capone was a two-year starter at Shattuck - St. Mary’s prep school in Faribault, Minn., and was selected as a team captain his senior season. As a junior, he started on an under-18 club team that won state and regional championships while finishing as a national finalist. He also started on an under-17 club team that won their U.S. regional, the American Soccer League tournament and appeared in the semi-finals of the Dallas Cup. As a freshman and sophomore he was on the Ontario Provincial team and the Canadian national team.
Jarred Clark (D Atlanta, Ga. Chamblee HS) Clark was a two-year starter and three-year letterwinner at Chamblee (Ga.) High. As a junior, he led the Bulldogs to a 3-A state championship with 18 assists and 10 goals. In his sophomore season, he tallied 10 assists and eight goals in his team’s elite eight appearance in which the team finished 15-6 on the season. His freshman season, the team finished 14-4 and was state runner-up in class 4-A. Clark also earned a letter as the kicker on the Bulldogs’ football team his senior season.
Jared Gain (M O’Fallon, Mo. Fort Zumwalt West HS) Gain was a four-year starter at midfielder for the Fort Zumwalt West Jaguars. As a senior he led the team in assists, earning him team offensive MVP, first-team all-conference, first-team all-metro and second-team all-state accolades. In his junior and sophomore seasons he earned first and second team all-conference honors respectively. Gain was named to the all-academic team and honor roll all four years of his prep career.
Kenny Giacobbe (M Glen Carbon, Ill. Edwardsville HS) Giacobbe was a three-year starter and four-year letterman at Edwardsville (Ill.) High, where he led the Tigers to three conference championships and three regional championships. As a senior, he led the Tigers to a state-runner up finish a top-10 regional ranking and top-50 national ranking, earning him a first-team all-conference and all-state selection. Giacobbe was also named Player of the Year by the Belleville News Democrat and Alton Telegraph. Giacobbe was a team captain in both his junior and senior seasons while earning team MVP honors in his final three seasons with the Tigers. As a junior he earned first team all-conference and all-sectional honors. He earned all-conference and all-region accolades as a sophomore as well.
Eric Martin (F Bentonville, Ark. Shattuck - St. Mary’s School (Faribault, Minn.) As a senior, Martin played forward for Shattuck - St. Mary’s prep-school in Faribault, Minn. Prior to his senior season he attended Bentonville (Ark.) High where he was a two-year starter and letterwinner as a midfielder. Eric was selected all-conference and all-state as a sophomore and junior. He was also a three-year starter at midfielder for the Arkansas Comets club team, finishing as state runner-up in all three of his seasons.
Trevor Spangenberg (GK Valparaiso, Ind. Boone Grove HS) Spangenberg had an outstanding prep career at Boone Grove High in Valparaiso, Ind., where he started every game of his four-year high school career at goalkeeper. As a senior, he led the Wolves with 12 shutouts and a 0.27 GAA en route to an undefeated season with a 15-0-1 record and a conference championship. For his efforts he was named team captain, team MVP, first-team all-conference in both the Northern Indiana Conference and Porter County Conference, top player in the Northern Indiana Conference and first-team all-area. He also played on the Chicago Fire Juniors during the club season. As a junior, he recorded 10 shutouts and a 0.62 GAA to finish 13-3-1 on the way to first-team all-conference honors. His sophomore season he finished ranked in the top 10 in the state with a 0.76 GAA. Derek Taddie (M Phoenix, Ariz Brophy College Prep) Taddie comes to Missouri State after a successful career with the nationally known Brophy (Ariz.) Broncos. Taddie was a four-year starter and three-year lettterwinner while leading the Broncos to three consecutive conference championships and back-to-back state championships in 2007 and 2008. As a senior, Derek led Brophy to an appearance in the state semifinals, was a team captain, a first-team all-Desert Valley Region defender and an all-state honorable mention. Taddie was also a three-year starter and two-year letterwinner on the Brophy prep volleyball team as an outside hitter. Derek is the son of Steve and Kathleen Taddie and plans to major in pre-veterinary sciences at Missouri State University. Paul Paradise (6-0’, Jr., Forward, Pittsburgh, Pa.) joins the Bears after playing two seasons for West Virginia University. In his two seasons with Mountaineers, he started and lettered as a forward, finishing his two seasons with a 19-14-8 combined record. He attended Plum High in Pittsburgh. where he was a four-year starter and letterman for the Mustangs as a forward and midfielder. |
