Missouri State tight end Clay Harbor (6-4, 230, Jr., Dwight, Ill.) has been named to the Associated Press FCS All-America Football Team, released Wednesday.  He led the 2008 Bears with 40 receptions for 457 yards and is on the AP All-America second-team for the second year in a row.

Harbor was Missouri State's only first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection in 2008. He earned the team's Offensive MVP Award this season after leading league tight ends in receptions per game (3.64) and receiving yards per game (41.55).  This season, he extended his active streak to 22 consecutive games with at least one pass reception and posted a career high eight catches for 113 yards against preseason league favorite North Dakota State on November 15. He became the 15th Missouri State player to eclipse 1,000 career receiving yards and was a two-time Coors Player of the Week recipient this year.

Last season, Harbor had 45 catches for 647 yards and three touchdowns to earn All-Valley and AP All-America second-team distinction. He was the Valley's preseason all-conference tight end this season and was a preaseason all-American tight end in a number of national publications.

Joining Harbor on the AP second-team was James Ruffin of Northern Iowa (Jr., DL), while fellow Valley standouts Herb Donaldson, Western Illinois (Sr., RB), Larry Warner, Southern Illinois (Sr., All-Purpose), and Jason Williams, Western Illinois (Sr., LB), were named to the AP All-America first team. Brad Samsa, Youngstown State (Sr., OL), Everette Pedescleaux, Northern Iowa (Sr., DL), and Nick Schommer, North Dakota State (Sr., DB) were third-team AP All-America selections.

Missouri State was 4-7 in 2008 and 3-5 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, marking the team's most league wins since 2004. The Bears will conduct spring workouts April 1-25, before opening the 2009 campaign on September against Arkansas.
