
Missouri State and Mediacom Announce 2008-09 TV Schedule

Missouri State University and Mediacom have announced the 2008-09 television schedule for the Bears and Lady Bears basketball teams. The package will include eight men’s games and eight women’s games, including both home openers at the new JQH Arena.
“We are pleased with the TV schedule on Mediacom this season and are excited about the opportunity the televised games will give our fans locally and around the state,” said Director of Athletics Bill Rowe. “Having the inaugural games at JQH Arena as part of our television package is really exciting, and it will undoubtedly increase excitement and awareness of our programs.”
The 16-game schedule features four games at JQH Arena, including the inaugural games in the teams’ new $67 million facility November 22 for the Bears against Arkansas and November 23 for the Lady Bears against Arkansas State. The men’s home game against Evansville (Feb. 4) and women’s home contest against UNI (Jan. 2) will also be featured on the Mediacom slate.
The remainder of the men’s schedule includes six road games, including a non-conference game at Tulsa (Dec. 10) and five Missouri Valley Conference games Illinois State (Jan. 18), Southern Illinois (Jan. 28), Creighton (Feb. 1), Wichita State (Feb. 10) and Bradley (Feb. 17).
On the women’s side, the only non-conference road game in the package will be at St. Louis University on November 29, while five road MVC games round out the schedule with games at Creighton (Jan. 8), Drake (Jan. 10), Wichita State (Jan. 24), Illinois State (Feb. 12) and Indiana State (Feb. 14).
“Mediacom is extremely excited and proud to be able to provide the MSU games to our customers," said Larry Peterson, Mediacom regional vice president. "We hope the Bears and Lady Bears have terrific seasons and look forward to covering the action.”
All games in the Mediacom package will be shown locally on Mediacom Connections Channel 14 and around the state on the Missouri Cable Sports Network. MCSN includes the Mediacom, Time Warner, Charter, Suddenlink, CableOne, Cox Communications and Cable America cable systems, covering markets in Springfield, Columbia, Jefferson City, St. Louis, Kansas City, Joplin and others.
