Jamie Hautzinger was a regular on the first four Missouri State women’s soccer teams from 1996 to 1999 from when the program was established as an intercollegiate sport at the University by coach Rob Brewer. Hautzinger led Missouri State in scoring during her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons while missing a significant portion of her junior year with an injury. The starting forward for the Bears had 10 goals and 10 assists as a freshman, 12 goals and nine assists as a sophomore and nine goals and 12 assists as a senior. Her point totals of 33 in the 1997 season and 30 during both the 1996 and 1999 campaigns remain the top three single season point totals on record for the 12-year history of the program. Missouri State had  the soccer program’s first winning season at 12-7-2 in 1997 when Hautzinger was a sophomore. The Bears slipped to 4-14 in 1998 when she was idled for much of the campaign by an injury, and bounced back to a 14-7-1 mark in 1999 when she was a senior. The 1999 season win total and winning percentage (.659) remain the best campaign on record in the history of women’s soccer at Missouri State. A product of Omaha, Neb., Hautzinger was a Missouri Valley Conference all-conference first team choice as a sophomore and as a senior and was an MVC second team selection her junior year. She was on the MVC all-freshman team her first year, the MVC scholar-athlete team twice and the MVC Tournament all-tourney team three times. She remains the Bears’ career leader in goals (31) and assists (34) by wide margins in each category, and her 96 career points rank as more than twice as many as the next best total in program history.  She also set school marks for game-winning goals in a season (4 in 1999) and in a career (10).
