Tanya Muentefering was a member of the Bears’ field hockey teams at the start of the very successful SMS run in the late 1970s under coach Rhonda Ridinger. SMS was the dominant field hockey power in the middle part of the country in those years in early AIAW state and regional competition. Muentefering was also active in track for SMS.
