HAROLD EBERHART
Basketball, 1930-34
Inducted September 22, 1979
Harold “Muse” Eberhart was an SMS freshman during the 1930-31 season when the Bears had only a 6-7 season in basketball but were awarded the MIAA championship when Northwest Missouri had to forfeit all their league victories due to the use of an ineligible player. Eberhart won a starting position in the third game of that season and poured in 22 points form the forward spot. He was a Bruin regular from then on. He gained all-conference honorable mention the next year as a regular and was the team’s co-captain as a junior. The next year SMS bounced back from four straight seasons with fewer than 10 victories to post a 15-4 record and Eberhart, a native of Houston, was a regular on yet another conference championship club. The Bears played in the National AAU Tournament in Kansas City at the end of the season.
