BOBBY BISER
Golf, 1978-81
Inducted February 25, 1995

Bobby Biser was native of Springfield who played for the SMS golf Bears from 1978 through 1981, and was a four-year letterman for Coach Jay Kinser.  Biser gained MIAA all-conference selection as a freshman in 1978 as he helped the Bears to a 10-stroke victory for the conference title, and the Bears advanced to the NCAA Division II Golf Championship.  As a sophomore in 1979, Biser was the leading shooter on the SMS squad as the Bears missed the league title by two strokes.  Biser repeated his all-conference honors and advanced to the NCAA Division II meet where he finished 19th individually to gain NCAA third team all-American honors.  Biser gained his third all-conference selection in 1980 and was again the Bears’ low scorer for the season.  SMS missed the league title by five strokes, but Biser advanced to the NCAA meet where he was 12th individually to gain first team all-America honors.  His senior season in 1981, Biser led SMS to another second place finish in the league.  He was the third leading scorer in the league play to gain all-conference honors for the fourth year in a row and was the SMS scoring leader for the third time.  He again advanced to the NCAA Division II championship where he carded a ninth-place finish in the individual standings to collect NCAA all-America honors for the third year in a row.
