Becky Duffin was a standout softball pitcher at SMS during the final two years of coach Kay Hunter’s highly-successful tenure with the Bears and then finished in the standout 28-10 season put together by Jim Webb in the first of his two seasons as the Bears’ head coach as the Bears won a state tourney title and finished as the regional tournament runner-up. Duffin was the Gateway Conference Player of the Year and landed a spot on the all-conference team as a senior in 1983 and was named to the SMS all-decade team in 1992.
