"Classic Evening" tickets now on sale
Women’s college basketball coaching icon Jody Conradt will be the featured guest speaker at the 11th annual “Jane A. Meyer Classic Evening with the Lady Bears,” to be held Monday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m. at University Plaza Convention Center in Springfield.
This year’s “Classic Evening” will include a reception and banquet dinner, giving fans the opportunity to share an evening with Coach Conradt, the 2007-08 Missouri State Lady Bears, coach Milleson and her staff. Tickets for the pre-dinner reception, which will begin at 5:30 p.m., can be purchased in combination with a dinner ticket for $75. The cost of a dinner-only ticket for the event is $35, while a reserved table for 10 that also includes two reception tickets can be purchased for $400.
A six-time national coach of the year, Jody Conradt concluded her 38-year coaching career with a 900-307 overall record. In her 31-year stay as head coach at the University of Texas, Conradt amassed 783 victories, 22 conference championships, three Final Four appearances and led the Longhorns to the 1986 national title with a perfect 34-0 mark. In October of 1998, she became just the second women’s basketball coach in history (along with Margaret Wade) to be elected into the Naismith National Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The following year, Conradt was a member of the inaugural class of inductees into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and was one of seven finalists for Naismith Women’s Basketball Coach of the Century honors. She also was inducted into the prestigious International Scholar-Athlete Hall of Fame (at the Institute for International Sport in Providence, R.I.) in the summer of 2003.

Lady Bears to take part in "Light The Night"
The Lady Bears plan to be a part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk, to be held Saturday, October 6, at The Wonders of Wildlife and Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Springfield.
All funds raised will support the Mid-America Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Light The Night Walk is a nationwide event in which participants carry illuminated balloons to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. All participants will be treated to a fun, carnival-like atmosphere complete with clowns, sports mascots, face painters, food, music and more!
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to finding cures for blood cancers. The Society invests millions of dollars in the most promising blood cancer research available, and we are seeing tangible results that benefit our patients and their families.

Golf tournament deemed a success
The Lady Bears’ golf outing at Branson Creek Golf Club kicked off the fall sports season in style, as the August 24th event raised over $13,000 for Missouri State women’s basketball. Over 140 individuals participated in the tournament, including the MSU coaching staff and Lady Bears Tiff Terwelp, Maggie Dwyer, Ashley Lord and Marisha Brown.
