Casey Comoroski selected Associate Director of Athletics

Casey Comoroski has been named Associate Director of Athletics at Missouri State University, with the new position effective Monday (Aug. 13). Her appointment is subject to the approval of the Missouri State Board of Governors at its next regular meeting. Comoroski will also be the Senior Woman Administrator within Intercollegiate Athletics.

Comoroski, on the staff at Missouri State as Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance since April, 2003, has been filling the Associate AD and SWA positions on an acting basis in addition to her compliance duties since Dr. Darlene Bailey left the University in October, 2006, to take a position with the Western Athletic Conference. Missouri State is beginning a search immediately to refill the compliance position within the department.

In her new position, Comoroski will have a variety of responsibilities, including administrative supervision of the sports of volleyball, softball, men’s swimming, women’s swimming and field hockey. She will work as employment coordinator and affirmative action officer for athletics and will have responsibilities with the departmental budget.

"Casey has done a tremendous job in filling both her existing job and the responsibilities of her new position for the past 10 months," said Director of Athletics Bill Rowe. "She has juggled her time and her efforts between two offices and two very different sets of responsibilities and has left no doubt that she has the abilities to succeed in this new position. She has the confidence of our coaches, administrators and student-athletes and we’re excited about enabling her to take this important step forward in his career. Her time and talents have been, and will continue to be, of great value to our department and to Missouri State University."

Comoroski came to Missouri State in April, 2003, from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S. C., where she had been Assistant AD for Compliance since 1998. At Coastal, she oversaw budgets for some of the school’s 17 sports, worked in game operations and event management, summer sports camps, monitored initial eligibility for all student-athletes, managed the school’s athletics auction, administered the NCAA Champs Life Skills Program and served as an NCAA Peer Review team member. Comoroski was named Big South Conference Compliance Administrator of the Year in 1999-00.

Comoroski graduated from St. Bonaventure in 1994 and earned a master’s degree in sports management from the University of Connecticut in 1996. She served a year as an intern in the Syracuse University athletics compliance office and two years in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference compliance section.

A native of Nanticoke, Pa., Comoroski was a four-year letterwinner in basketball from 1990 to 1994 at St. Bonaventure and was the Bonnies’ starting point guard all four years. She was inducted into the St. Bonaventure Athletic Hall of Fame in February of 2007.
