Missouri State University’s resignation agreement with former Coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson has been approved. The agreement includes a payment of $257,000, which is equal to the base salary for the two years remaining on her contract.
The resignation agreement was approved today (April 17) by the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors in executive session. Under the Missouri Open Meetings, Open Records Law, also known as the Sunshine Law, public governmental bodies have 72 hours in which to announce personnel decisions made in an executive session.
"As I said at the time, we respect and understand Coach Abrahamson-Henderson’s decision to resign," said Missouri State President Michael T. Nietzel. "Under the circumstances, we felt this settlement agreement was fair. We appreciate the contributions Coach Abrahamson-Henderson made to the university over her five years as coach."
Abrahamson-Henderson also will be paid all money due her as part of the 2006-07 season, as well as her unused vacation days.
