Bears host St. Gregory's Monday night

The Missouri State basketball Bears play the second of their two pre-season exhibition games Monday night when they host St. Gregory's University at 7:05 p.m. in Hammons Student Center.

St. Gregory's, an NAIA school in Shawnee, Okla., is coached by former Missouri State basketball administrative assistant Kevin Morrissey.

Missouri State opened exhibition play with a 91-67 win over Arkansas Tech Thursday evening in Hammons. The Bears open their regular season Saturday (Nov. 11) at the University of Toledo. The home opener comes the weekend of Nov. 16-17 when the Bears host the 21st annual Price Cutter Classic in Hammons in which they will play Harding University and UNC Greensboro.

Coach Barry Hinson's Bears got balanced scoring in the win over Arkansas Tech as Dale Lamberth scored 26 points, Drew Richards added 14 and 11 other Bears reached the scoring column. Missouri State jumped out to a 27-point lead in the first half of that contest and coasted home.

The Bears Monday will stick with the veteran lineup of Lamberth and Deven Mitchell at forwards, Richards at center and Spencer Laurie and Justin Fuehrmeyer at guards. Fuehrmeyer is a sophomore and the other starters are senior.

The will not be a live radio broadcast of Monday's game.
